article-aurora

An aurora (plural: aurorae or auroras; from the Latin word aurora, "dawn") is a natural light display in the sky particularly in the high latitude (Arctic and Antarctic) regions, caused by the collision of energetic charged particles with atoms in the high altitude atmosphere (thermosphere). The charged particles originate in the magnetosphere and solar wind and, on Earth, are directed by the Earth's magnetic field into the atmosphere. Aurora is classified as diffuse or discrete aurora. Most aurorae occur in a band known as the auroral zone, which is typically 3° to 6° in latitudinal extent and at all local times or longitudes. The auroral zone is typically 10° to 20° from the magnetic pole defined by the axis of the Earth's magnetic dipole. During a geomagnetic storm, the auroral zone will expand to lower latitudes. The diffuse aurora is a featureless glow in the sky which may not be visible to the naked eye even on a dark night and defines the extent of the auroral zone. The discrete aurorae are sharply defined features within the diffuse aurora which vary in brightness from just barely visible to the naked eye to bright enough to read a newspaper at night. Discrete aurorae are usually observed only in the night sky because they are not as bright as the sunlit sky. Aurorae occasionally occur poleward of the auroral zone as diffuse patches or arcs (polar cap arcs, which are generally invisible to the naked eye.(info taken from wikipedia ).

photojournal- animal wild life...

grevy's zebra ,the largest of the three zebra species – are feeling the pinch of growing human populations in Africa. Since the 1970s, these large zebras have lost huge areas of habitat to settlements and agriculture. The result: the Grevy’s zebra population is now just 2,000 to 2,500 animals – only 17 percent of what it was 30 years ago. AWF’s Grevy’s Zebra Research Project is working fast and furiously to develop conservation efforts to save this fascinating species.

Lifestyle..book suggestion...

For me ,this is one of my favourite book..It really can motivate us in our journey of life..the synopsis is as follow..

Insya-ALLAH."

article...what makes science interesting...

Some people find science boring but science is anything but boring. You know why? It is because science has so many different aspects and so many different fields that you simply have to find something that interests you and stimulates your hunger for knowledge.

Science is always moving forward and with each new day we have the chance to witness new fascinating discoveries that sometimes seem to be out of this world. The constant scientific progress is what drives our society and our civilization forward.

Who would have imagined few centuries years ago that one day humans could fly into the space and walk on the surface of the Moon?

Science makes fantasy come true. Only science is able to transform our imagination into reality.

Science is not only the result of our imagination, it is really the combination of imagination and hard work. The majority of scientific discoveries were the result of countless previous experiments where scientists had to learn from past mistakes in order to move forward.

article..it's all about the animal..

1. Elephants are excellent swimmers but they cannot trot, jump, or gallop.

2. Elephants have an exceptional sense of hearing. This is because their hearing receptors are not located only in their ears, but also in trunks that are sensitive to vibrations, and even more significantly feet, which have special receptors for low frequency sound.

3. 10,000 years ago, the lion was the most widespread large land mammal after humans.

4. Lions are the only members of the cat family where males and females look distinctly different.

5. During a mating bout, a lion couple may copulate 20 to 40 times a day for several days.

6. The night vision of tigers is six times better than that of humans.
7. Tiger paws are powerful enough to smash the skulls of domestic cattle, and break the backs of sloth bears.

8. There are more than 20,000 ants species living on our planet.

9. Ant queen can live up to 30 years, significantly longer than the ant workers who live up to 3 years.

10. Army ants can consume up to 100,000 prey animals each day.

11. Polar bears can breed with brown bears, and the result of this breeding are fertile grizzly–polar bear hybrids.

12. Fat polar bears rarely attack humans (it takes serious provocation to get them going), but hungry polar bears have extremely unpredictable behavior and there were some cases when hungry polar bear killed and sometimes even ate human.

13. The giraffe needs less food than typical grazing animals because the foliage it eats has more concentrated nutrition and it has a more efficient digestive system compared to other grazing animals.

14. Giraffe, in average, sleeps less than 2 hours per day.

15. The DNA of gorillas is between 95 and 99% the same as ours.

16. Almost all gorillas have the same blood type (B).
17. Cheetah is the fastest land animal. Adult cheetah can reach speeds between 112 and 120 km/h (70 and 75 mph).

18. Cheetah can purr but not roar like lions and tigers can.

19. The cheetah kills its prey by tripping it during the chase, then biting it on the underside of the throat to suffocate it.

20. Some dolphin species have up to 250 teeth.

article..astronomy' s new..

Actually ,there are many interesting finding in the astronomy field. The Exoplanet refer to  planet outside our solar system. In of September 2012, astronomers have discovered more than 800 exoplanets, varying from scorching hot worlds with molten surfaces to extremely cold ice balls.

The astronomers hope that one day they will be able to find new Earth, the so called “Superearth”, a planet with roughly the same characteristics as Earth, the one that has the ability to sustain life.

The quest for this planet still goes on but nonetheless researchers say that life might actually be able to survive on some of the currently found exoplanets, despite the extreme conditions. Of course, if there were to be life on these planets then this would have to be some extreme life forms.

Lifestyle..The Time Keeper

It's time to read....

Below is my on list book for this month..
 synopsis for this novel...

From the author who's inspired millions worldwide with books like Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven comes his most imaginative novel yet, The Time Keeper--a compelling fable about the first man on earth to count the hours.
The man who became Father Time.

In Mitch Albom's newest work of fiction, the inventor of the world's first clock is punished for trying to measure God's greatest gift. He is banished to a cave for centuries and forced to listen to the voices of all who come after him seeking more days, more years. Eventually, with his soul nearly broken, Father Time is granted his freedom, along with a magical hourglass and a mission: a chance to redeem himself by teaching two earthly people the true meaning of time.

He returns to our world--now dominated by the hour-counting he so innocently began--and commences a journey with two unlikely partners: one a teenage girl who is about to give up on life, the other a wealthy old businessman who wants to live forever. To save himself, he must save them both. And stop the world to do so.

Told in Albom's signature spare, evocative prose, this remarkably original tale will inspire readers everywhere to reconsider their own notions of time, how they spend it and how precious it truly is.

renungan...sajak buat guru..

GURU OH GURU
BERBURU ke padang datar
Dapat rusa belang kaki
Berguru kepala ajar
Ibarat bunga kembang tak jadi
(dedikasi kepada Hari Guru dan guruku tercinta)
Dialah pemberi paling setia
Tiap akar ilmu miliknya
Pelita dan lampu segala
Untuk manusia sebelum jadi dewasa.

Dialah ibu dialah bapa juga sahabat
Alur kesetiaan mengalirkan nasihat
Pemimpin yang ditauliahkan segala umat
Seribu tahun katanya menjadi hikmat.

Jika hari ini seorang Perdana Menteri berkuasa
Jika hari ini seorang Raja menaiki takhta
Jika hari ini seorang Presiden sebuah negara
Jika hari ini seorang ulama yang mulia
Jika hari ini seorang peguam menang bicara
Jika hari ini seorang penulis terkemuka
Jika hari ini siapa sahaja menjadi dewasa;
Sejarahnya dimulakan oleh seorang guru biasa
Dengan lembut sabarnya mengajar tulis-baca.

Di mana-mana dia berdiri di muka muridnya
Di sebuah sekolah mewah di Ibu Kota
Di bangunan tua sekolah Hulu Terengganu
Dia adalah guru mewakili seribu buku;
Semakin terpencil duduknya di ceruk desa
Semakin bererti tugasnya kepada negara.
Jadilah apa pun pada akhir kehidupanmu, guruku
Budi yang diapungkan di dulangi ilmu
Panggilan keramat "cikgu" kekal terpahat
Menjadi kenangan ke akhir hayat.

renungan..hadith

Sebagai seorang muslim kita hendaklah sentiasa berhati-hati dalam setiap perbuatan yang kita kerjakan..
Berkata Imam al-Syafi'i,

"Sesiapa yang menceritakan aib orang lain kepadamu, ia akan menceritakan aibmu kepada orang lain.
Sesiapa membawa berita orang lain kepadamu,ia akan membawa beritamu kepada orang lain.
Sesiapa yang berlebihan memujimu jika engkau menggembirakannya,ia akan berlebihan mencelamu jika engkau memarahinya"

(Riwayat Imam A-Baihaqi dalam Kitab Manaqib al-Syafi;i, jil.2, halaman 198).

Semoga kata-kata diatas memberi panduan dalam kita melayari bahtera kehidupan kita setiap hari..insyaallah..
